Defibrillators for South Australia's new AED laws
Automated External Defibrillators (Public Access) Bill 2022

A comprehensive range of Defibrillators that are compliant with the South Australian AED Bill, created to ensure your workplace and vehicles meet the requirements of ‘Automated External Defibrillators (Public Access) Bill 2022)
The bill introduced the requirement for certain buildings, facilities, and vehicles to be equipped with a defibrillator by the 1st of January 2025, and the defibrillator must be registered.

The Bill refers to the following:
- Public building or facility (swimming pool, library, local government office, town hall)
- Sporting facility
- School, tertiary institution, education, or skills training facility
- Correctional facility or custodial police station
- Retirement village or Residential aged care facility
- Caravan Park
- Residential Park (allows for occupation by more than 12 residents
- Casino or other gambling venue
- Theatre or venue where artistic or cultural performances are provided
- Prescribed vehicle (train, tram, public bus, or any other vehicle prescribed in the Bill)
- Commercial building, or other building types outlined in the regulations

A building ‘used for commercial purposes’ that is built or subject to major works after the 1st of January 2026 where the building has a floor area greater than 600m2.

OR a relevant building or facility as designated must install an AED every 1200m2 of floor space.

A maximum penalty of $20,000 may apply if a defibrillator is not onsite by 1st of January 2025.
